Active and retired clergy in good standing who have been ordained for a minimum of three years and who have not attended CREDO or a Provincial Retiree Gathering (PRG) the past ten years are invited to attend.

This is your current status with the Church Pension Fund and not your employment status:

• Active clergy are those who are actively contributing to the Pension Fund.
• Retired clergy are those who are actively receiving a CPG pension, whether still working or not.

Names are pulled from a random selection of those actively participating in the Church Pension Fund and who meet the eligibility requirements as stated above. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis through a weblink sent in the emailed invitation. We ask that all applicants be sure to verify with appropriate sources (family, vestry, etc.) that the full dates of the conference are available and set aside before responding to the invitation.

CREDO conferences are a benefit for those participating in the Clergy Pension Plan, so only Plan participants may attend. We provide conference materials to facilitate involvement with your spouse or partner before, during, and after the conference. If your spouse is a Clergy Pension Plan participant and also receives a 2023 Fall/2024 Spring invitation, we request that you attend separate conferences.

At these conferences, you will participate in the standard CREDO program but with a group of clergy with whom you have something specific in common. The Affinity CREDOs being offered in 2023 Fall/2024 Spring are:

• CREDOs 410 & 414 – for clergy receiving a CPG pension
• CREDO 406 – for active and retired clergy of color
• CREDO 416 – for active clergy anticipating retirement within 5 years

Affinity conferences are scheduled with specific groups in mind as they have a commonality that allows for deeper conversation. We ask that invitees not register for an affinity conference for which they do not currently identify.

Yes, space is limited to 30 participants per conference. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

CREDO is a benefit offered by The Church Pension Fund. There is a $500 participant fee for the conference. The fee covers the majority of expenses, including airfare, lodging, meals, and other direct conference costs.

The participant fee is due at the time of enrollment unless other arrangements are made. Payment can be made by credit card.

If this fee creates a hardship, scholarships are available. Please contact the E&W office at (888) 274-2828 or credo@cpg.org for more information.

Your fee will be refunded in full if you cancel at least 60 days prior to the beginning of the conference. Because it is difficult to fill vacated slots without substantial lead time, if you cancel after the 60-day deadline, we reserve the right to withhold a refund of fees paid.

Most costs are covered by the conference fees. However, you may want to bring a small amount of spending money for gifts, gratuities, or souvenirs.

Yes, in order to create community and to have the best experience possible, we ask that you stay for the entire conference and participate fully in all sessions. If you wish to sight-see or visit family or friends, we ask that you do so before or after the conference. For all conferences, we ask that you arrive no later than 3:00 pm on the first day and that you not depart until the conference concludes at 9:15 am on the last day.

Yes, approximately 90 days prior to your conference, you will receive materials that will need to be returned to CREDO prior to attending the conference. There are also materials you will complete and bring with you. Some of the work will be done via the Internet and some is paper-based. Individuals vary, but this work should take between 5 and 8 hours to complete. It is recommended that all work must be completed in order to get the best experience from your conference.

Yes. The health and well-being of all conference attendees is always CPG’s priority. Due to the ever-changing nature of the COVID-19 virus, safety precautions will be determined and shared closer to the start of each conference. Precautions may be specific to the location of the conference, and we will require that attendees follow all stated precautions.
